Rachel Elkes
Founder and Executive Director |
Rachel Elkes is the Founder and Executive Director of The Cashmere Foundation. She received her degree from Parsons School of Design, graduating from their School of Design Strategies.
She began her career with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, redesigning the patient experience during chemotherapy and curating art galleries in their state-of-the-art Brooklyn facility. Currently, she works at Google, focusing on wearables and health. Rachel founded The Cashmere Foundation as a way to bring the spa experience to those that need it most. The work she does stems from personal experience, after being treated in hospitals for an eating disorder, she became acutely aware of what was missing from even the best institutions during her own recovery. A firm believer in the science behind the healing benefits of incorporating alternative modalities in the treatment process, The Cashmere Foundation is Rachel's way of merging already exceptional healthcare with the profound power of human touch through the spa experience. |
